The Police grupo musical inglés de pop-rock con toques reggae. Se formó en 1977 y se separó en 1985. Durante su existencia, editó 5 discos: 1. Outlandos d'ámour (1978) 2. Reggatta de Blanc (1979) 3. Zenyatta Mondatta (1980) 4. Ghost in the Machine (1981) 5. Synchronicity (1983) Sus integrantes eran: Sting (Gordon Sumner) al bajo y principal vocalista; Andy Summers a la guitarra y Stewart Copeland a la batería. The Police tuvo una carrera llena de exitos (Roxanne, I can't stand losing you, Every breath you take, Message in a bottle... por citar algunos). En el momento de su separación era el grupo mas popular y con más ventas del mundo.
